Vile 04:34
Lyrics: Now it is time to disconnect And lay your fears to rest Now we won't abide We'll readdress The current rise of the tide All the while All the vile All go wild Now you know it's time To reconnect With your fellow humans Now we won't subscribe To your vid Fuck your bullshit content All the while All the vile All go wild All the while All the vile Crowd goes wild The crowd goes vile All the future All at once I can see it In your past In a flash All of the future And all it at once All that i see And all that i want from you

Mjr. Minor 03:57
You were drunk on my promises I thought that I’d be something else You were so concerned about your former self We had to bail us out I’ll be the one to call you out You’ll be the one to say that i was wrong You were right at the time All along I was drunk on your promises My Whiskey lips Your jaded kisses waned A night out fell Into frustration again A major minor point erupted All for what All for us All for what All for us And I’ll be the first to say My self left me to the wind All for what All for none And I’ll watch you sail away I thought I’d be more I’ll be the one to call you out You’ll be the one to say that i was wrong You were right Well, at the time All along All for what All for us

Anechoic 03:41
In this room You are the sound It’s anechoic Never ringing out You can hear your disposition loud The mechanics of your body The releasing of the hounds There’s no echo In your chamber You sit in the nothingness But to exist You must sit in Real silence You realize you can not stand your ground In this empty room you are the crowd Never underestimate the power of the sound of nothing trying to spiral Til you’re down and just need out There’s no echo In your chamber You sit in the nothingness Reflecting on (all) But to exist You must sit In real silence If real silence exists You must commit to your reluctance To not submit To the emptiness You must sit in real silence

Die Twice 03:04
Never will it be this way again No it won’t Never will you waste your breath again Make what you can Of this life instead Before you die You will have learned to survive It’s alright Perception is your key to be free We have all the means To starve on all of this gluttony Before you die You will have learned to survive Before you go You will have just learned to cope Oh no The rest of your night Could be the rest of your life And if the stars should all align Then the rest could work out fine It’s so-so so beautifully bleak It incinerates It’s so-so so treacherously sweet A bit bitter taste Lemon but no lemonade To stand on your own Accept all the things You must change Never will it be this way again No it can’t Never will you waste your breath again Before you die You will have learned to survive Before you go You will have sown all your oats Almost The rest of your night Could be the rest of your life And if the stars should all align Then the rest could work out fine

Amplified 04:21
So you beat it down Beat that feeling underground Til it won’t come out So you Beat it down Beat that feeling underground Like it’s all going to end somehow Do you know what it means to be alive The high the low The joy of being deprived It’s all amplified when you’re alone The smallest things they grow So you beat it down Til it turns into a shout Explode til you’re all burnt out Then you’re pitching a fit Just like a little kid That didn’t get their wish Do you know what it means to be alive The high the low The joy of being deprived The feelings amplified when you’re alone The smallest things they grow Beat it Beat that feeling down Beat it Beat it down Beat that fucking feeling down Did you know what it meant to be alive The high the low The joy of being deprived It’s all amplified when your alone The smallest things they grow So you beat it down Til it all comes spilling out

Aural fixation Obsession with violence Such a peaceful person Addicted to twisted Substance is sorted the categories you chose I can hear the options And so on and it goes On and on On a vacation An instant retreat of noisy calm the palm of your cranium Your hand picks the content The most horrific moment The most obscene thing a person could do Well, I can hear it all And so on and it goes On and on it goes on and off And it goes An aural fixation Can you hear it They stumbled onto something A scene that they simply can't unsee Played out aurally In mangled brush there’s a body Clear signs of struggle The culprit was brutal and then gone How will we find them How will we know what happened And so it goes It goes on and off And it goes An aural fixation Can you hear it Can you feel it Can you picture it well

You’ll always be frustrated by something No matter money No matter your station You can find the faults in the fault line Down and out or dividing riches No matter what your current position Sleeping sidewalk or strolling in best digs Downtown & out to drink and forget it You’ll always be one way or another Nearly broken Or cracked in the concrete A stiff upper lip A stiff frozen plea Down and out Out on the street yeah No matter what your daily position Strolling sidewalk or getting arrested Downtown & out to drink and forget it I see your downtown eyes Red as fire They just seem to look blind Just walk on by They’re just as wide as mine Just stroll on by People laughing and people aren’t thinking To forget their current condition Sleeping sidewalk or bougie feasting dividing lines won’t conquer the in between Never mind the system has failed Never mind all that have succeeded All within all that’s superseded the most jaded I see your downtown eyes Red as fire You just seem to look blind just walk on by they’re just as wide as mine just stroll on by Downtown & out

Here We Are 03:36
Here we are There u am Are you the post or are you the fence It depends Here we are There you stay Slowly you’re tipping the scale one way Every day You won’t bring us down To your level of woe It’s your subjective truth Here we are There u am We feel so insignificant So dismissed One thing we’ve learned The heat it will always be bringing the burn In turn You won’t bring us down To your level of woe It’s your subjective truth Subjective truth Objective spoof You won’t bring me down Framed up Mounted up To speculate Frosty stares From all sides Framed up in alibis Painted white Lies

Always going to be leaving the now We’re here Always going to be a moment gone We’re left out Your memory will keep your mind at bay I’m here Now you will begin to be the same I’m left out We’re leaving the now Always knew that you could make it past Stuck here A life that held you frozen in a cast No way out We were made to just move on and fast Leave this Now we can adapt to what we have Become sound I'm amazed By the way You’re leaving the now Constantly onto the next The now is but moments We’re leaving the now Even though you’re still still you move We’re here Around the roller rink you always flew We’re left out The carousel around you always puked I’m here Round and up and down you are renewed I’m left out I'm amazed By the way You’re leaving the now Constantly onto the next The present is but moments Always going to be leaving the now Stuck here Always going to be a moment gone No way out Your memory will keep your mind at bay Now you will forever be the same

Can't Even 04:09
If you were literally dying I’d warn the paramedics To not prolong your life How do you figure out the lie If everything’s the opposite of what you meant to try You can speak it No you can say it figuratively or literally Rise above rise above The vice of expectation Pass or fail tonight Rise above rise above The status quo And all the clones You can be your own If you were literally dying I’d rush to your side and make sure we saved your life Everybody thinks You’re really something Or something else Not of yourself Rise above rise above The vice of expectation Pass or fail or die Rise above rise above The status quo And all the clones You can be your own I figuratively can’t even

about

Chrome Lakes formed in 2013 in Seattle, Washington, and have been a staple of the Pacific Northwest music scene ever since. They released their debut LP, The Cost, in January 2017, and are set to release its follow up, Real Silence, in April 2020.

Real Silence articulates the band’s growth as they upped the heaviness and aggressive sound. This records leaves behind the ballads and get-in-get-out rock for ripping solos and hardcore infused ferocity. These new songs demonstrate their maturity through nuanced arrangements and layers, making room for each song to take its time, while still blasting through measures.

Real Silence is evidence of the years Chrome Lakes spent developing their style and growing as a collective voice. The sheer amount of time and work is clear from the first riff to the last note. As a tight knit unit, building from the foundation they crafted on The Cost, Chromes Lakes added more guitar, heavier bass, and a highly democratic songwriting process, giving way to a truly collaborative operation.

Sonically, the record feels organic and raw but is flush with technical execution. While their influences aren’t always clear—each member pulling from various decades and genres—Chrome Lakes stands at the nexus of hardcore, punk, and rock & roll. In the spirit of At the Drive In, Helms Alee, Cave In, and bands of that ilk, these new songs hurtle forward. It’s almost as if The Cost grew arms and legs and gave us Real Silence.
